Master your emotions, be present over perfect, and reprocess past trauma or defeat so you can move forward with confidence.

Erica Curry, LMFT

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs we never asked for. From injuries, to dips in performance, a sense of identity loss after retirement or traumatic events that should have never happened but somehow did. For athletes, former athletes, and high performers, holding yourself to relentless standards on top of life's challenges can leave you feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, and constantly fighting your own mind just to stay at the top of your game. It’s challenging to know what to do next when pushing through isn’t working like it used to. That’s where I come in.

As a licensed therapist, I offer a warm, validating environment to process what feels heavy. I combine this with a direct, active approach to help you achieve true self-improvement and growth. We work as a team to build your treatment plan around your core values and set meaningful goals. Once those targets are reached, we review your progress together and decide whether to celebrate and end therapy or set new goals.

To create lasting change, I equip you with practical DBT and RO-DBT skills to manage distress, increase flexibility of mind, regulate overwhelming emotions, and stay present under pressure. If skill-building alone isn't enough, we integrate EMDR to reprocess trauma at a deeper level so you can feel grounded in your body.

You don't have to keep white-knuckling your way through life. Together, we’ll build a steady foundation so you can feel clear, confident, and genuinely connected.

As a former Division I athlete, I know what it takes to achieve big goals and just how heavy it can feel to bear the pressure of reaching them. I also know firsthand the complex emotions that can follow a major win or the end of a sports career.

Towards the end of my athletic career I decided I wanted to become the support I wish I had. When I discovered DBT and RO-DBT, lightbulbs went off. Just as athletes train physical skills to succeed in their sport, we can all train mental and emotional skills to build the life, relationships, and career or business we want.

Training to become a therapist taught me the power of validation and vulnerability. Training as a high-performance athlete taught me structure, discipline, and effectiveness. I approach therapy and skills training as your teammate: I am in your corner, and I want to see you win, whatever that looks like for you.
