Protection From Future Screening: Permanent psychiatric diagnoses on insurance files can potentially impact background checks, security clearances, or life/disability insurance underwriting. Private pay ensures complete autonomy over who sees your health information.
No Third-Party Oversight: Insurance providers reserve the right to audit clinical records, request session notes, and evaluate treatment plans to determine if care is "medically necessary." Cash-pay therapy completely eliminates third-party access to your records.
No Mandatory Psychiatric Diagnosis: Insurance companies mandate a formal DSM diagnosis (e.g., Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety) on your permanent medical record to justify coverage. Private-pay care allows us to address high-stakes stress, performance blocks, or trauma without labeling you.

While I do NOT accept insurance directly I can generate monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance that is then applied to your out-of-network deductible.
Note: most PPO plans offer out-of-network benefits. Call the number on the back of your insurance card to learn about your benefits.
-
If your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits (often found in PPO plans), your insurer may reimburse you for a percentage of your therapy costs. You pay the standard session fee ($225) directly after the time of your appointment. Then, you submit proof of your session to your insurance company via superbill, and they mail a check or direct deposit a portion of the fee back to you based on your plan's coverage.
Call the number on the back of your insurance card to learn if you have out-of-network benefits.
-

My goal is to give you the tools you need to carry on without making therapy a permanent fixture in your life. We will build your treatment plan together, identify your goals and when those goals are reached we will celebrate, review our work together and part ways.
